maya malachowski bajak

Maya Malachowski Bajak lives and works in Northampton, Massachusetts. She grew up in the United States, Germany and Colombia. Her mother is a Peruvian painter and her father is a journalist from New York. She received a B.A from Oberlin College in Latin American Studies and Studio Art. Through the media of drawing and etching, Maya's work expresses liminal spaces: the evolution of habitats, the architecture of fading human progress and environmental degradation. Maya works out of Zea Mays Printmaking, a studio facility dedicated to safer and non-toxic methods, where she is both a studio member and the exhibition coordinator. When she is not working on copper plates, you can find her in the garden or in the kitchen baking pies.
